Holy Island also known as Lindisfarne is a small tidal island off the coast of Northumberland in northeast England. It is connected to the mainland at low tide by a causeway. The island was an important place of pilgrimage during Medieval times and today it is home to one of the oldest churches in England, Lindisfarne Priory.
