Getting a group to Amazona Zoo
Amazona Zoo is based at NR27 9JG, and groups arriving by road benefit from the accessible paths on site once inside. Coach hire and minibus hire for Amazona Zoo trips works well for school groups and other organised parties, but the zoo requires group visits to be prebooked. Anyone planning a coach party should contact the zoo directly ahead of the visit to confirm arrangements, since this isn't optional for group admission.
School groups and prebooking
School group visits are available at Amazona Zoo, and the same prebooking rule applies. Organisers should build in time to contact the zoo before travel is confirmed, so the coach or minibus booking and the zoo booking line up. Leaving this until the day of travel risks arriving without confirmed group entry.
Timing the visit around opening hours
Amazona Zoo opens at 10am and closes at 5pm, with last admission at 3:30pm. This gives a fairly firm window for day trips. Groups travelling from further afield need to check their coach journey time against this last admission cut off, since arriving after 3:30pm means missing entry even if the zoo is technically still open.
Why journey time matters here
Because last admission is fixed at 3:30pm, the drive time from the origin city directly affects how early a coach needs to leave. A group travelling under an hour from Norwich has far more flexibility than one travelling over three and a half hours from London or Sheffield. Operators in this area can advise on realistic departure times once the origin point is confirmed, and drivers' hours rules are factored into any return journey plan. For groups coming from the furthest origins on the journey table below, an early start is essential to arrive well before the 3:30pm cut off, leave time to enjoy the visit, and still make the return trip within a single day.
Journey times to Amazona Zoo
Breaks required follow GB drivers hours rules, and all six origins listed allow a lawful same day return.
About This Destination
Amazona Zoo is located at NR27 9JG and welcomes prebooked group visits, including school groups, with accessible paths around the site. Coach hire and minibus hire for Amazona Zoo suits groups travelling from nearby Norwich in under an hour, or from further origins such as London and Sheffield in around three and a half hours. Opening hours run 10am to 5pm with last admission at 3:30pm, so journey time from the origin city matters when planning a same day visit and return.

What to Know Before You Travel
The practical bits, in plain terms.
Yes, group visits to Amazona Zoo must be prebooked. Organisers should contact the zoo directly before travel to confirm arrangements, rather than assuming a coach party can simply turn up and be admitted as a group on the day.
Amazona Zoo is open 10am to 5pm, with last admission at 3:30pm. Coach parties travelling longer distances need to plan departure times carefully so they arrive before the 3:30pm cut off, not just before closing.
Yes, school group visits are available at Amazona Zoo. As with all group bookings, schools need to contact the zoo in advance to arrange the visit before confirming coach or minibus travel for pupils.
Amazona Zoo has accessible paths on site. This is worth noting when planning group visits, particularly for schools or organisations bringing visitors who need step free routes around the zoo grounds.

About BusRoute
BusRoute is a UK coach and minibus booking platform. We do not own vehicles. We connect groups with licensed operators who do, which means you are matched to the operator best placed to run your journey rather than to whoever happens to own the nearest coach.
Every operator we work with holds a valid PSV operator licence and full passenger insurance. Drivers on school and youth bookings are DBS checked as standard.

“We booked Bus Route for our group of 35 passengers travelling from London to Ipswich return trio and the experience was excellent from start to finish. On our way to the venue, the road was unexpectedly closed when we were only about 15 minutes away. Our driver remained calm, patient, and professional throughout, finding an alternative route without any stress or delay on our part. We really appreciated how composed and experienced he was in handling the situation. The coach was clean, comfortable, and the air conditioning worked perfectly, which made a huge difference as we were travelling during an extremely hot day. Everyone in our group was able to relax and enjoy the journey.Overall, we had a fantastic experience on both the outbound and return trips. The service was reliable, comfortable, and well-organised. I would highly recommend Bus Route to anyone looking for coach transport for a large group. Thank you for helping make our trip so enjoyable!”

“The booking process with Busroute was easy, and follow up communication excellent. Despite a 6a.m. start the bus was there at 5.40, ready to load and ensure a prompt getaway. Our driver was very friendly, helpful and courteous and helped with unloading at the airport. The return to Swansea from the airport was equally easy and comfortable with an ontime pick-up and arrival back in Swansea. I highly recommend BusRoute and0 their partners.”
