Coach hire and minibus hire in Chard
Chard is a town of around 12,008 people in Somerset, sitting within the TA20 postcode area. It is the kind of place where group travel needs matter, whether that is a school trip, a sports team heading out for a fixture, or a community group organising a day away. BusRoute connects people in Chard with licensed operators who provide coaches and minibuses suited to the job, from smaller vehicles for local runs to full size coaches for longer journeys.
What operators in this area can cover
Operators working in and around Chard handle everything from short local transfers to longer cross country trips. The journey data below shows that Exeter is under an hour away by road, making it one of the most straightforward routes, while Birmingham at over three hours is a more significant undertaking that still allows a lawful same day return. Whatever the distance, the operator manages the driving hours and break requirements so organisers do not have to work that out themselves.
Booking through BusRoute
As a broker rather than an operator, BusRoute does not own vehicles or employ drivers. Instead, the service matches your requirements in Chard with operators who hold the right licences and vehicles for the trip. This means access to a wider range of options than a single local operator could offer, whether that is a minibus for a small group or a full size coach for a larger party.
Planning around Chard's location
Chard's position in Somerset means it sits within reach of several major cities without being directly on a motorway corridor, so pickup arrangements and access routes are worth confirming early with the operator. For groups travelling into Chard from further afield, the journey table below sets out drive times and break requirements so the logistics are clear before booking.
Whether the trip is a short hop to Exeter or a longer run from Birmingham, coach hire and minibus hire in Chard through BusRoute means the practical details, from vehicle size to driver hours, are handled by an operator licensed for the job.

“We booked Bus Route for our group of 35 passengers travelling from London to Ipswich return trio and the experience was excellent from start to finish. On our way to the venue, the road was unexpectedly closed when we were only about 15 minutes away. Our driver remained calm, patient, and professional throughout, finding an alternative route without any stress or delay on our part. We really appreciated how composed and experienced he was in handling the situation. The coach was clean, comfortable, and the air conditioning worked perfectly, which made a huge difference as we were travelling during an extremely hot day. Everyone in our group was able to relax and enjoy the journey.Overall, we had a fantastic experience on both the outbound and return trips. The service was reliable, comfortable, and well-organised. I would highly recommend Bus Route to anyone looking for coach transport for a large group. Thank you for helping make our trip so enjoyable!”
