Getting Your Group to Dens Park
Group travel for Dens Park
Dens Park has been in use since 1899 and holds 11,506 people, making it one of the older grounds still hosting matches at this scale. Getting a group there without the usual parking and traffic headache is the main reason people look into coach hire or minibus hire for Dens Park in the first place, whether that's a supporters club, a work outing, or a one off event trip.
Booking through a broker
BusRoute connects you with licensed operators who know the routes into Dundee and the practicalities of dropping large groups near a stadium of this size. Operators handle vehicle size, driver hours compliance, and route planning, so you're matched with someone who already knows the area rather than working it out on the day.
Journey times vary by origin
Anyone travelling from Edinburgh, Aberdeen or Glasgow is looking at under two hours each way with no mandatory break required, which makes a same day return straightforward. Newcastle is a longer haul at just over four hours but still legally doable in a day. Liverpool and Leeds both sit above six hours each way, and GB drivers hours rules mean a break is required on the way, which is why same day return isn't lawful from either city.
What to check before booking
If your group is coming from further south, factor in the extra time for the required break and think about whether an overnight stay makes more sense than pushing for a same day trip. For the closer cities, a straightforward there and back on the same day is realistic without cutting it fine on legal driving limits.
Journey times to Dens Park
Breaks required follow GB drivers hours rules, which set mandatory rest stops for coach drivers on longer journeys.
What to Expect
Dens Park opened in 1899 and holds 11,506 people, placing it among the UK's longer standing grounds still hosting matches at this scale. Groups travelling in come from across Scotland and further afield, with journey times ranging from under two hours from Edinburgh, Aberdeen or Glasgow to over six hours from Liverpool or Leeds. Coach hire and minibus hire for Dens Park works well for closer cities as a same day trip, while longer journeys may need an overnight stay to stay within drivers hours rules.

Things to Check First
The parts worth reading twice.
It's 57 miles from Edinburgh to Dens Park, with a coach journey time of around 1 hour 34 minutes. No mandatory break is required for this distance, and a same day return is entirely lawful and practical.
No, a same day return from Liverpool isn't lawful under GB drivers hours rules. The 289 mile journey takes 6h 07m each way plus a required break, making the round trip too long for a single day.
Dens Park opened in 1899, making it one of the longer standing football grounds still in regular use. Its age is a key reason group visitors often want to see it as part of an organised trip.
Dens Park holds 11,506 people. That capacity is worth factoring into your group planning if you're arranging minibus hire for a smaller party or coach hire for a larger one heading to a match.
Questions about coach hire for Dens Park
Common questions from groups organising travel to Dens Park, covering journey times, driver breaks, and same day return options.
A ground with history
Dens Park opened in 1899 and has stayed in continuous use since, giving it a longer history than many UK grounds of similar size. That history is part of the draw for groups organising a visit.
Matched with local operators
BusRoute connects your group with licensed operators who know the roads into Dundee and the drop off points near Dens Park. You get a driver who's familiar with the area, not a guess on the day.
Plan around the distance

About BusRoute
BusRoute is a UK coach and minibus booking platform. We do not own vehicles. We connect groups with licensed operators who do, which means you are matched to the operator best placed to run your journey rather than to whoever happens to own the nearest coach.
Every operator we work with holds a valid PSV operator licence and full passenger insurance. Drivers on school and youth bookings are DBS checked as standard.

“We booked Bus Route for our group of 35 passengers travelling from London to Ipswich return trio and the experience was excellent from start to finish. On our way to the venue, the road was unexpectedly closed when we were only about 15 minutes away. Our driver remained calm, patient, and professional throughout, finding an alternative route without any stress or delay on our part. We really appreciated how composed and experienced he was in handling the situation. The coach was clean, comfortable, and the air conditioning worked perfectly, which made a huge difference as we were travelling during an extremely hot day. Everyone in our group was able to relax and enjoy the journey.Overall, we had a fantastic experience on both the outbound and return trips. The service was reliable, comfortable, and well-organised. I would highly recommend Bus Route to anyone looking for coach transport for a large group. Thank you for helping make our trip so enjoyable!”

“The booking process with Busroute was easy, and follow up communication excellent. Despite a 6a.m. start the bus was there at 5.40, ready to load and ensure a prompt getaway. Our driver was very friendly, helpful and courteous and helped with unloading at the airport. The return to Swansea from the airport was equally easy and comfortable with an ontime pick-up and arrival back in Swansea. I highly recommend BusRoute and0 their partners.”
