Getting a group to Knockhill
Knockhill Racing Circuit sits in Fife and hosts group race events priced from £42 per driver, with standard admission at £32 for adults and £39 on event days. Organising coach hire or minibus hire for Knockhill Racing Circuit means one vehicle handles parking and drop-off, rather than coordinating a convoy of separate cars into the circuit grounds.
Booking group sessions
Group race bookings go through Knockhill directly on 01383 723337 or enquiries@knockhill.co.uk, and it makes sense to confirm driver numbers before arranging transport. Operators connected through BusRoute can work around whatever pickup time the group session needs, whether that is an early arrival for a full day of karting or a later slot for spectating.
Where groups are travelling from
Most groups reach Knockhill from Edinburgh or Glasgow, both under an hour and a half away with no legally required breaks either way. Aberdeen and Newcastle-upon-Tyne are further but still comfortably doable as a same day return under GB drivers hours rules. Liverpool and Leeds are a different proposition: both routes exceed five hours each way and require a break, which pushes the round trip past what a same day visit can reasonably support.
Choosing the right vehicle
A minibus suits a smaller group booked onto a single karting session, while a full coach makes sense for a larger party mixing drivers and spectators. Operators in this area are used to circuit drop-offs, where access points and parking differ from a typical car park. Confirming numbers early, especially for group race events, helps match the right size vehicle to the trip.
Journey times to Knockhill Racing Circuit
Breaks required follow GB drivers hours rules and apply per one way leg of the journey.
Background on Knockhill Racing Circuit
Knockhill Racing Circuit in Fife runs group race events from £42 per driver, with standard admission at £32 to £39 depending on the day. Minibus hire for Knockhill Racing Circuit suits smaller karting groups, while larger parties mixing drivers and spectators often need a full coach. Journey times range from under an hour from Edinburgh to over five hours from Liverpool or Leeds, where a same day return isn't lawful under GB drivers hours rules. Confirming numbers with Knockhill directly before booking transport keeps the day running smoothly.

Worth Knowing in Advance
Answers to what groups usually ask.
Group race events at Knockhill start from £42 per driver. This is separate from standard admission, which is £32 for adults on normal days and £39 on event days, so it's worth clarifying which applies when booking.
Group bookings go through Knockhill directly, either by phone on 01383 723337 or by emailing enquiries@knockhill.co.uk. Confirming driver numbers with them before arranging coach or minibus transport avoids mismatched group sizes on the day.
Yes, a same day return from Newcastle-upon-Tyne is lawful under GB drivers hours rules. The one way journey is around 3h 27m with no required breaks, leaving reasonable time for a race session and return.
Not comfortably. Both routes exceed five hours each way and require one legally mandated break per leg, pushing total travel time past what most groups want in a single day alongside a race session.
Questions about Knockhill group travel
Common questions from groups arranging coach or minibus travel to Knockhill Racing Circuit for race events or general admission.
Group race events from £42 per driver
Knockhill's group race events are priced from £42 per driver, separate from standard admission of £32 to £39. Booking coach or minibus hire alongside a group session keeps everyone arriving together for the same start time.
Short runs from Edinburgh and Glasgow
Groups from Edinburgh reach Knockhill in around 51 minutes, and Glasgow in about 1h 05m, both with no required breaks. These are the shortest routes on record and suit tight schedules around a booked session.
Longer trips need a break built in
Groups travelling from Liverpool or Leeds face over five hours each way and a required break under GB drivers hours rules. A same day return isn't lawful from these origins, so overnight plans are worth considering instead.

About BusRoute
BusRoute is a UK coach and minibus booking platform. We do not own vehicles. We connect groups with licensed operators who do, which means you are matched to the operator best placed to run your journey rather than to whoever happens to own the nearest coach.
Every operator we work with holds a valid PSV operator licence and full passenger insurance. Drivers on school and youth bookings are DBS checked as standard.

“We booked Bus Route for our group of 35 passengers travelling from London to Ipswich return trio and the experience was excellent from start to finish. On our way to the venue, the road was unexpectedly closed when we were only about 15 minutes away. Our driver remained calm, patient, and professional throughout, finding an alternative route without any stress or delay on our part. We really appreciated how composed and experienced he was in handling the situation. The coach was clean, comfortable, and the air conditioning worked perfectly, which made a huge difference as we were travelling during an extremely hot day. Everyone in our group was able to relax and enjoy the journey.Overall, we had a fantastic experience on both the outbound and return trips. The service was reliable, comfortable, and well-organised. I would highly recommend Bus Route to anyone looking for coach transport for a large group. Thank you for helping make our trip so enjoyable!”
