Coach hire and minibus hire for Manchester Airport
Manchester Airport has operated since 1934 and today handles coach and minibus traffic through dedicated facilities rather than general car park bays. Anyone arranging coach hire or minibus hire for Manchester Airport needs to know where vehicles can wait, where passengers get dropped, and what that costs, because airport sites rarely work like a standard car park.
Where coaches park and drop off
Coach parking at Manchester Airport is provided at the Runway Visitor Park, a facility set apart from the terminal car parks and built to handle larger vehicles. The designated drop-off point for coaches is DC10, named after the Monarch Aircraft on display, and it sits right next to the coach parking area. This means operators bringing a group in do not need to negotiate terminal forecourt traffic, they head straight for a location built for coach access.
Cost depends on the booking type
Coach parking is complimentary for Educational Tour bookings, which matters if you're organising a school trip, college visit, or similar educational group heading to the airport or its visitor attractions. Other booking types should confirm terms directly with the airport before travel, since the free arrangement applies specifically to educational bookings rather than every coach movement.
Getting the right vehicle for the group
Operators connected through BusRoute can supply anything from a minibus for a small group transfer to a full size coach for a school party or works outing. Because coach parking and the DC10 drop-off are already set up for larger vehicles, groups arriving by coach avoid the drop-off congestion that can build up at busier terminal entrances during peak flight times.
Booking through a broker
BusRoute does not own vehicles. Instead, we connect you with licensed operators who know the Runway Visitor Park layout and the DC10 drop-off point, and who can plan a route in from wherever your group is starting. That local knowledge of the airport's own coach infrastructure is worth having before the day of travel, not after.

Break requirements follow GB drivers hours rules, and all six routes shown allow a lawful same day return.

Before You Book
No jargon, just what you need to know.
Coaches park at the Runway Visitor Park, a dedicated facility separate from the terminal car parks. It is built to accommodate larger vehicles, meaning operators avoid the tighter terminal forecourt areas designed for cars and taxis.
The coach drop-off point is DC10, named after the Monarch Aircraft displayed there. It sits directly next to the coach parking area at the Runway Visitor Park, keeping arrival and parking close together.
Coach parking is complimentary specifically for Educational Tour bookings. Other types of coach booking should be confirmed with the airport directly, since the free arrangement applies to educational visits rather than all coach traffic.
Yes, minibus hire for Manchester Airport is available through licensed operators for smaller groups. A minibus suits transfers and smaller party sizes better than a full coach, while still using the same drop-off arrangements.
Manchester Airport is around 6 miles from Manchester, with a coach journey time of about 15 minutes and no legally required breaks, making a same day return straightforward.

About BusRoute
BusRoute is a UK coach and minibus booking platform. We do not own vehicles. We connect groups with licensed operators who do, which means you are matched to the operator best placed to run your journey rather than to whoever happens to own the nearest coach.
Every operator we work with holds a valid PSV operator licence and full passenger insurance. Drivers on school and youth bookings are DBS checked as standard.

“We booked Bus Route for our group of 35 passengers travelling from London to Ipswich return trio and the experience was excellent from start to finish. On our way to the venue, the road was unexpectedly closed when we were only about 15 minutes away. Our driver remained calm, patient, and professional throughout, finding an alternative route without any stress or delay on our part. We really appreciated how composed and experienced he was in handling the situation. The coach was clean, comfortable, and the air conditioning worked perfectly, which made a huge difference as we were travelling during an extremely hot day. Everyone in our group was able to relax and enjoy the journey.Overall, we had a fantastic experience on both the outbound and return trips. The service was reliable, comfortable, and well-organised. I would highly recommend Bus Route to anyone looking for coach transport for a large group. Thank you for helping make our trip so enjoyable!”
