Coach hire for Shakespeare's Globe
Shakespeare's Globe stands at 8 Bedale Street, London, SE1 9AL, a Grade II listed building on the south bank of the Thames. Groups travelling by coach or minibus need to plan the last stretch carefully, since central London streets around Bankside are narrow and busy with pedestrians heading to and from the theatre and the riverside walk.
Getting there and parking
The nearest coach parking is Tower Hill Car & Coach Park, 0.74 miles away (1191 m), which is roughly a 15 minute walk from the venue. It holds 16 coach spaces and charges a fee, so operators should factor this into the drop off plan. There are 2 coach parking options nearby in total, which gives some flexibility if the main site is full on a busy performance day.
Booking through a licensed operator
When you arrange minibus hire for Shakespeare's Globe through BusRoute, you're connected with licensed operators who know the Bankside area and its parking restrictions. This matters for school trips, theatre groups and tour parties who need a reliable drop off and pickup point close to the entrance without blocking local traffic.
Journey times from around the UK
Groups travelling from Southampton, Leicester, Norwich, Birmingham, Bristol or Nottingham can all comfortably make a same day return, with journey times ranging from around 2 hours 14 minutes to 3 hours 15 minutes depending on origin. None of these routes currently require a legally mandated break one way, though operators will plan stops as needed on the day. The table below sets out the details for each origin so you can plan arrival times around performance schedules or guided tours.

“We booked Bus Route for our group of 35 passengers travelling from London to Ipswich return trio and the experience was excellent from start to finish. On our way to the venue, the road was unexpectedly closed when we were only about 15 minutes away. Our driver remained calm, patient, and professional throughout, finding an alternative route without any stress or delay on our part. We really appreciated how composed and experienced he was in handling the situation. The coach was clean, comfortable, and the air conditioning worked perfectly, which made a huge difference as we were travelling during an extremely hot day. Everyone in our group was able to relax and enjoy the journey.Overall, we had a fantastic experience on both the outbound and return trips. The service was reliable, comfortable, and well-organised. I would highly recommend Bus Route to anyone looking for coach transport for a large group. Thank you for helping make our trip so enjoyable!”
